Bukhari Community Center
Last updated: October 6, 2026
The Bukhari Community Center (BCC) is a masjid and community center in Brooklyn, New York. We collect only the information we need to run our programs safely and serve our families well.
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and address when you create an account.
Family information: your children's names, dates of birth, and any allergies, medical conditions, or behavioral notes you provide so our teachers can keep them safe.
Program and billing records: enrollments, invoices, and payment history.
Check-in records: when your child is checked in and out of our programs.
Messages: the chats, photos, and videos you send in the app's messaging.
Camera check-in (only with your consent): a face template of your child, used solely to recognize them at check-in.
To run our programs: enrollment, class placement, attendance, and check-in/out.
To bill correctly: invoices, payment confirmations, and receipts.
To keep children safe: teachers and staff see the medical and pickup information you provide.
To communicate: program updates, schedule changes, and billing reminders by email or text.
We never sell your personal information to anyone.
We share data only with the service providers we need to operate — for example, Stripe to process card payments and our email provider to send confirmations — and when required by law.
Who can message whom: anyone can message the office; parents can message their children's current teachers; teachers can message the parents of the students in their classes. Volunteers do not message parents, and parents cannot message other parents directly.
Each class has a class chat with the teacher and the parents of the children in that class. Photos and videos shared there (for example, a recording of your child's lesson) are visible only to the members of that chat and to BCC administrators.
For children's safety, BCC administrators can read all chats. Staff should never communicate with families through private, unmonitored channels.
When a class or enrollment ends, its chats become read-only and stay in your Archive. Photos and videos are stored privately and are never public links.
Children's information is provided and managed by their parent or guardian. Medical notes are used only for your child's safety in our programs and are visible only to staff who need them.
Camera check-in is optional. We create a face template only after a parent or guardian gives consent, use it only for check-in, never share it, and delete it when you withdraw consent or leave our programs. You can withdraw consent at any time from your child's profile or by telling the office.
We sometimes photograph community events for our website and announcements. If you prefer that your family not appear in photos, tell the office and we will honor your request.
Your data is stored securely and access is limited to authorized staff. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.
You may view and correct your family's information at any time from your account. To request a copy or deletion of your data, contact the office — we will respond promptly.
We may update this policy as our services grow. The latest version will always be posted here with its update date.
